You Can’t Miss These Fun September Events in North Carolina’s Triangle
The Triangle is alive in September. There are a number of independent music festivals as well as concerts and college sports.

Hopscotch Festival September 5th Raleigh
One of the top independent music festivals that features headliners and lots of smaller bands at stages and clubs across Raleigh
- Carolinadaze September 14 Raleigh
- The Raleigh version of this independent music festival takes place at the Red Hat Amphitheatre. It features a variety of bands and visual artists.
- IBMA Bluegrass Live! powered by PNC, Sept. 27-28, 2024
- The arrival of a toe-tappin’, banjo-strummin’ week of non-stop week of bluegrass in downtown Raleigh capped off with a two-day festival that sets up five stages of free music, a dance tent, tons of art vendors and more.

- Experience more than 100 exhibits, crafts, games and activities at BugFest, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences‘ annual event that lets you interact with entomologists and other scientists while learning about the fascinating world of bugs.

- Asia Fest, September 28th, Cary NC
- Presented by Asian Focus at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, the 8th annual Asia Fest will be a celebration of Asian cultures with live stage performances, games for the kids, global street food vendors and much more (including the Raleigh area’s only dragon boat race!).
- La Fiesta del Pueblo, September 2024
- The Triangle’s Largest festival of Latin culture including music, dance, food and art
- North Carolina African Restaurant Week Festival 2024 September 14th Raleigh
- This festival allows you to taste African themed food from restaurants across the Triangle and view and purchase African art
- Tesla String Quartet September 7th, Baldwin Auditorium at Duke, Durham
- Whiskey, Wine and Fire September 21st, Booth Amphitheatre, Cary
- Move from table to table and sample wine and whiskey from various vendors. There are also food tents for tasting
Sports
- There are Women’s Volleyball, Soccer, Women’s Field Hockey and Men’s Football events at UNC, NC State and Duke
Other Events
- Canvas Sky Circus September 3-4 Durham Mystic Farm & Distillery Company
- Catch a group of 10 circus artists performing acrobatics and classic circus acts with a contemporary theme.
- Ride for Freedom Zinchouse Winery and Brewery, Durham
- Police escorted hour and a half ride around Durham to raise money for T2T Foundation which helps to pay off mortgages
